The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governments and other partners.
With 125 member states, IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people.
In 2018, Connected Pictures were asked to support with the creation of an emotive, engaging animation the encapsulates the journey of a refugee across borders and highlights the support they and their families receive from the IOM throughout this journey.
Working with our talented Animation Director, Jody McAlavey and a brilliant animation team from the US, we created this 2-minute film.
This film has become the centrepiece for our animation work as it demonstrates how illustration and animation can capture human emotion in a simple and powerful way.
